Statement on Clubs | ||
![]() | ||
We do not need clubs in the pro-life movement. The children don't need clubs, and our culture doesn't pay attention to clubs. We need a non-violent social movement that will end the plague of abortion in our world. We are involved in a battle to save human lives and moral order in a culture bent upon self-destruction. To pretend that clubs actually help the children or effect change would be a grave disservice to our preborn brothers and sisters. We live in revolutionary times that call for revolutionary actions. We are called to be counter-cultural. We are not called to go with the flow. Are we going to be a movement that actually moves? Is the absolute essential sense of urgency permeating our lives and the lives of our friends? Do we live as if there is a holocaust happening around us? Are we calling one another to greater and greater commitment, greater initiative and persistence? If we are not doing these things, then we should not expect an end to this plague. We should not expect any great change in cultural norms. If we are not convicted to act like people are dying, then why should anyone else? If we are not living a life that heeds God's commandments and follows His example, then why should anyone else? When we begin to love one another as Christ first loved us, we will start to see massive cultural change and conviction. It is time we come to terms with the fact that there is only one solution to child killing: God's love in action for others through us. Tennis clubs don't strive to reach out to the unloved and rejected. Fitness clubs don't have a plan for the oppressed and homeless. Chess clubs don't work endlessly for cultural change. Don't run a club. Don't take the same steps last year's group took. Be creative and revolutionary. Step out in faith. Step up to love. Step into service. |
